Banana Tissue Cultures

Tissue culture techniques play an important role in generation and multiplication of clean cultivation material. In the figure here, a tissue culture laminar flow cabin is being used to process sterile plant culture material. In the middle, a banana seedling sprouted on sterile culture media in a test tube. On the right, multiplied banana cultures taken ex vitro prior to transfer to the field conditions.

It has been confirmed that the African universities do not collect overheads to provide computers or other ICT equipment for researchers. Therefore, to support data collection in the field and labs, portable computers will be acquired for each partner HEI.
